Choice 1: Type of Home Heating Fuel

Our home heating fuel choices for the 2019-2020 heating season include:

Option 1: CLEAN HEAT (In absence of you making a specific selection, this will be the default selection)

Sensitivity to climate change is reshaping home heating products across the country and encouraging home heating oil suppliers to move towards using increased percentages of renewable fuels as a component of home heating oil. Peterson’s Oil is proud to be a leader in this movement. While blends of petroleum and biofuels produce slightly fewer BTUs than traditional, more petroleum-based home heating oil, they also offer significant advantages in addition to lowering carbon emissions. Biofuels burn cleaner than traditional home heating oil. At Peterson’s Oil, we blend our own fuel. Our Clean Heat product contains approximately 50% biofuel. Minor adjustments may need to be made to your burners to adjust to this renewable fuel. We are pleased to provide this product at the same price as our other principal home heating fuel.

Option 2: BIOHEAT®

Peterson’s Oil will continue to offer our traditional home heating fuel, Bioheat®, which contains a higher percentage of petroleum and a lower percentage of renewable fuel than our Clean Heat product.

Option 3: WINTER BLEND

This is a home heating fuel designed for customers with outside storage tanks.

Option 4: KEROSENE

Please call our office at (508) 368-1000 for kerosene delivery.

Choice 2: Payment Plans

Payment plans from Peterson’s Oil Service are offered as a convenient way to manage your heating costs. The complete terms and conditions of all our payment plans are defined in our Residential Customer Information Handbook available for download here: GET YOUR HANDBOOK

1. PREPAYMENT PLAN

This plan requires a lump sum payment in advance for your anticipated fuel consumption for the heating season. This fixed price program allows customers to take care of their heating costs with one payment. The plan offers protection from seasonal price increases only. Your price will neither increase nor decrease with this plan. Any excess consumption over the enrolled gallons is billed at Peterson’s market price on the date of delivery. This plan is eligible for Downside Price Protection for $0.15 per gallon. With Downside Protection, your price will not rise, but could fall if the Peterson’s market price is lower than your contracted price on the day of your delivery. When prices fall, Downside Price Protection is a smart choice.

2. INSTALLMENT PLAN

This plan is for customers who wish to have a fixed price for oil and a convenient monthly payment. Our installment plan permits the customer to make 10 consecutive monthly payments beginning on September 1. Any excess consumption over the enrolled gallons is billed at Peterson’s market price on the date of delivery. The price for this plan is based upon 2019-2020 futures prices. This plan is also eligible for Downside Price Protection.

3. MARKET PRICE BUDGET PLAN

A choice for someone who would like to have a convenient monthly payment, the budget plan allows you to budget your payments over several months. Your monthly budget bill is based on anticipated usage and today’s market price of $2.70; your deliveries are priced at prevailing market price at time of delivery. We may elect to adjust your monthly payments mid-season to reflect significant changes in market and weather conditions, and/or your personal consumption.

4. MARKET PRICE PLAN

This is our default payment-pricing plan. You pay the posted market price for the day of your delivery. Enrolment is not necessary. It is possible to convert to a fixed price plan at any time based on prevailing rates at time of conversion. The delivery ticket left at your door is your invoice.

Choice 3: Service Plans

We offer you a several levels of service plans so you can be covered for every situation. Whether your heating system is old or new, Peterson’s has you all set with preventive maintenance and the option to protect yourself against potential repair costs. Plus, all of our service plans cover your fuel tank too – including fuel tank replacement!

Option 1: Ultimate Service Plan

Our best and most comprehensive program. You will never pay for a service or a repair due to mechanical failure. The annual tune-up is included, as are all parts and labor. Charges may be incurred if it’s necessary to bring your equipment up to code.

Option 2: Deluxe Service Plan

Perfect for homes with new boilers, this plan covers any service that may be required due to mechanical failure of essential components of the heating system and domestic water piping within a few feet of the boiler. Annual tune-up, service calls during normal business hours and even one emergency after-hours call are included. NOTE: We do not recommend this plan for warm-air furnaces.

Option 3: A Service Plan

The “A”stands for “annual tune-up.” This annual service plan covers the oil burning and safety components of your system and includes periodic or annual maintenance and repairs to the covered parts during regular business hours.

Option 4: G Service Plan

The “G” stands for tune-ups based on a “gallons-used interval.” We recommend tune-ups after each 1,500 to 2,000 gallons of usage. Coverage with this plan is the same as the “A Service Plan” above.

In order to opt into your custom combination of home heating fuel, payment plan and service plan, your response is needed by Monday, September 23, 2019.**

*If you do not choose plans for the 2019-2020 heading season, you can remain on automatic delivery at market prices and the home heating fuel that will be delivered to you will be Clean Heat. Your service plan will renew on the anniversary date. You can also elect to budget the cost of the service plan over ten months.

**After September 23, 2019 we will continue to offer payment and pricing plans in person or on-line with different terms; however, this is our only offering by mail. Our daily price quotes are available on PetersonOil.com or by calling our price line at (508) 368-1111. The online pricing may differ from the traditional Selection Guide if daily market conditions change. If you opt for a market price plan, you can convert to a fixed price plan at any time based on prevailing rates at time of conversion. Fixed priced contracts are not available in New Hampshire or Connecticut after October 31, 2019. Fixed price programs may have penalties for early termination. Pricing programs can help you manage your monthly payments or minimize the impact of volatile prices. Review and choose the plan that best meets your personal needs.
